The Tree of lights has become a tradition in our small community of Vankoughnet.
St. Stephen's Anglican Church (seen above) and St. David's Presbyterian Church invite you to participate in the lighting of the tree, an event to be held in St. Stephen's at 4:30 pm on Advent Sunday November 29, 2014. From the time of the lighting and throughout the Christmas season the tree will be lit every evening at sundown.
Should you wish to purchase a symbolic bulb for the tree in memory of a loved one (white bulb) or in honour of someone (blue bulb) please contact one of Joanne Sutton at 705-645-9363 firstname.lastname@example.org or Jennifer Milne 705-646-0248 mondayschild47@@bell.net or Patti Thompson 705-645-0037 email@example.com
Bulbs are $5.00 for each name to be remembered. All money collected will be donated in equal parts to Interval House (a local shelter for women and their children) and Out of the Cold (a local service program to feed those in need during the winter months). The names of those you have chosen to remember will be recognized during the Christmas Eve services at St. Stephen's (4 pm) and St. David's (7:30 pm).
The lighting of the Tree symbolizes hope and Love in our community. Please come and share.
