Please be on the lookout for wildlife crossing our roads. Turtles are especially vulnerable at this time of year.
Mike Bennett recently saw a large snapping turtle crossing highway 118 near Oakley Crescent. He carefully and safely stopped traffic in both directions, then ensured that the snapping turtle was able to complete its road crossing successfully. Thanks Mike!
Remember that there will be a turtle workshop on July 4th at 10:30am at the Caribou Lodge bingo hall. Scales Nature Park will be doing a live animal presentation, and kids will be able to paint their own concrete turtle.
