Petition to limit proliferation of huge docks

Some cottagers in Muskoka have built huge docks and avoided municipal & provincial regulations by referring to them as “water aerodomes”.  Current regulations for water aerodromes fail to state that mixed-use docks & structures are not permitted and certification for them is done without environmental or safety assessments from provincial & municipal authorities.  As a result there is a petition to the Minister of Transport to close a Transport Canada loophole allowing cottagers to build what they want without permits and approvals by saying their dock is a “water aerodrome”.  This petition has the support of Scott Aitchison - the Muskoka, Parry Sound MP.  The petition requires 500 signatures before June 25, 2023 in order for it to be read in the House of Commons.  If you are concerned and want to sign the petition, please visit https://petitions.ourcommons.ca/en/Petition/Search?parl=42%2C43%2C44&category=All&text=e-4364
